Paragliding courses and lessons in WalesWhy Ten days? The average time taken for each student to qualify is 10 days. Even if you are lucky enough to squeeze through your training in a shorter period of time, we believe that you need the full 10 days to gain enough experience to be a safe and confident pilot. All our courses are based towards a qualification. We will endeavour to supply a full days training each and every day you attend your course. If it is not possible to get the full day due to weather reasons, the lost portion of your day will be taken at a later date. Please remember you will be following a rigid syllabus and like learning to drive a car, people will progress at different rates. Some students will progress slightly slower but others can be much quicker.

How long have I got to finish? You have one year to finish your paragliding course from your start day. Please endeavour to keep your training days as close together as possible; lack of student currency is one of our biggest problems and one of the main causes of paragliding accidents within our sport. If too long is allowed to elapse between training sessions, for safety reasons, you may need to go back in the syllabus and complete the last previous task again.

Note: We reserve the right not to qualify any student until that student reaches the appropriate standard and to call a halt to training in the interest of that student if we feel fit to do so.

Do I need equipment? Even though we have a fleet of good quality paragliders within the school for you to use, you would be expected to purchase your own equipment from us as soon as possible. You will get used to the control and performance aspects of your new paraglider while you are under our careful watch and supervision. Having your own equipment also gives you the chance to meet us out on the hill in the middle of the day or after work maybe. Having the flexibility to run to your own timetable can help you enormously during and after your training. Many of our students with their own paragliders meet us after work for the last few hours of the day (which is also the best time to learn). The best possible equipment will always be new as the sport continues to evolve and develop. We are constantly testing new equipment as it becomes available so we know the best possible packages to supply our clients. If your funds cannot stretch to new, we can obtain good second-hand equipment from our extensive contacts within the paragliding world.
